    A practical starting point

What should a condo cleaning checklist include?

Start with the areas residents and visitors use most: entrances, elevator cabs, hallways, washrooms and garbage rooms. Add less frequent detail work and Ontario seasonal tasks. The right schedule depends on your building’s traffic, amenities and service agreement; use this list to discuss priorities with your cleaning team.

    01 / Daily

    Daily common-area tasks

Check high-traffic spaces and frequent touchpoints.

    • Lobby & entrance: sweep, mop, spot-clean glass
    • Elevators: floors, walls, mirrors, tracks
    • Main hallways: vacuum / mop high-traffic areas
    • Garbage & recycling room: tidy, deodorize
    • Entrance mats & door handles sanitized
    • Spot-check washrooms & restock
    02 / Weekly

    Weekly detail tasks

Cover corridors, stairs and shared amenity areas.

    • All corridors & stairwells cleaned
    • Amenity rooms (gym, party room) wiped down
    • Mailroom & parcel area
    • Interior glass & railings polished
    • Baseboards & high-touch surfaces
    • Elevator cab deep wipe
    03 / Monthly

    Monthly deep-clean tasks

Plan the details that need a longer cleaning cycle.

    • High dusting: vents, fixtures, ledges
    • Stairwell handrails & edges detailed
    • Garbage chute room deep clean
    • Light fixtures & signage
    • Underground garage entry swept
    • Inventory & restock supplies
    04 / Seasonal (Ontario)

    Seasonal Ontario tasks

Prepare for winter conditions and periodic exterior work.

    • Spring: underground garage power wash (winter salt)
    • Window & balcony glass (building-wide)
    • Carpet cleaning in corridors
    • Exterior entrance power washing
    • Pre-/post-winter walk-through
    • Review cleaning plan with management

    How to use this checklist

Use the tasks to start a building-specific scope, then record who is responsible and when each area needs attention.

    STEP 01

    Walk the building

Check the lobby, elevators, corridors, garbage rooms, garage and any shared amenities.

    STEP 02

    Adjust the frequency

Match tasks to foot traffic, resident use, seasonal conditions and your service agreement.

    STEP 03

    Review and record

Assign tasks, note completion and revisit the scope with management when the building changes.

    Common questions

    Condo cleaning checklist FAQs

How often should condo common areas be cleaned?

There is no single schedule for every Toronto building. Lobbies, elevators and garbage rooms may need daily attention; corridors and amenities can follow a different cycle. Set the frequency based on traffic, use and the agreed scope.

Is underground garage power washing a daily task?

No. This checklist treats garage power washing as seasonal work, including a spring cleanup after winter salt. The exact timing and scope depend on garage conditions and access.

Can I adapt the checklist for my building?

Yes. Use the 24 tasks as a starting point, add areas specific to your building and confirm responsibilities with your service team. The PDF is designed for printing and marking by hand.

Does this replace a building-specific cleaning scope?

No. A working scope should also define areas, frequency, supplies, access and how completed work is checked. Contact Bex Property Care to discuss a plan for your property.
